About Us

40 Degreez Centre for Young People aims to be a one stop shop for all of Farnham young people's  needs.  Apart from running a wide range of activities for young people aged 10-25 both in term and holidays times, we rent out our rooms for all sorts of occasions such as exhibitions, meetings and parties.  We also work in partnership with numerous local agencies and organisations such as:

Surrey Youth Development Service,
Connexions,
Surrey Police,
Surrey Children's Service,
Guildford and Waverley PCT,
Options
Weydon and Heath End schools

40Degreez, formerly the Farnham Youth Project, has been running since 1995 and is a registered charity (Reg No. 1000823). The building is run and maintained by volunteer trustees who are from all walks of life and all have two things in common:  they all live in Farnham and have an interest in working with young people.

The centre is open every weekday from 9am to 5.30pm and is staffed by two part time administrators.  We also employ a part time youth worker who provides counselling and advice on many subjects for the town's young people.  She works closely with Surrey Youth Development Team's own youth worker who rents an office at the centre and runs a variety of clubs, activities, workshops and informal counselling sessions for 14-25 year olds at 40 Degreez.

40Degreez was named by the young people of Farnham - 40 ̊C makes the centre a HOT place to be but at the same time at 40 ̊F, a COOL place to hang out.

40Degreez is always evolving and regular research and feedback helps us provide exactly what young people want.  The centre is also very accessible with easy parking next door in the Dogflud Way car park and only a 10 minute walk from the train station.  It's a very user-friendly and safe place for young people to come and enjoy themselves, make new friends, learn new skills and just hang.

Youth provision in Farnham is at an exciting stage at the moment and 40 Degreez aims to be at the centre of future developments. Let us know what you would like to see happening at 40 Degreez.
