Every Wednesday evening we run a ‘project night’. Every term or half term we have a new free project running primarily for school years 9 plus (age 14 years and over).
Examples of recent projects:
Young people learnt to play in their own band, (acoustic guitar, singing, drums, electric guitar and bass guitar). They recorded their own 4 track CD and designed the graphics for it. We had an evening trip to the Haslemere Wey Centre at the end of the project to use their professional recording studios to record a Christmas song they learnt together.
Dance and Film Project
In partnership with ‘The Dance Movement’ a professional dance teacher attended each session to assist the young people in choreographing their own dance film. The young people made the film and had a screening night at the end to celebrate their achievements.
Young people took turns every week to make their own recipes, they had a limited budget to work to and would cost the recipe and shop for the ingredients together. They also took part in quizzes and activities relating to food. At the end of the project everyone contributed to make two set menus, including food they wouldn’t normally choose to prepare and eat!
This half term (beginning 5th June) we are running an Art Project
Every Wednesday, 7-9pm, FREE, 15 places
Mural painting, mono printing, stencilling, still life drawing, felt making and more.
