Youth Club

Have you visited the 40 Degreez youth clubs yet?  They operate on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings from 7-9pm.

Anyone aged 14-19 can come and drop in at any time throughout those two hours. There are plenty of things to do like playing table tennis, pool or table football.  Or why not just come and chill in the comfy sofas whilst munching on some pizza or garlic bread?

The newly upgraded computer suite is open for use as well so you can catch up on news, chat with mates and  play games  through the social networks.

Sometimes the youth leaders, Venice, Luke and Frankie, will put on a themed evening like a film night with popcorn and a can of Coke.  Or maybe it will be a music session with visiting DJ's coming in to share their skills with the turntable.  Other sessions may be about art and expressing yourself through paint or sculpturing. The graffiti workshops have been a great success and there are plenty of other sessions planned.

Everyone who comes along to these clubs has a say in what to do and it's through your suggestions that evening and holiday workshops are planned and put on.  Membership is free so why not give it a try, bring your mates and chill out at 40 Degreez.

It is hoped that soon club members will be involved in an Eagle Radio programme which will call upon them to interview local bands, put together an hour's programme and generally become involved and learn about producing a radio programme.  "It sounds awesome," said youth leader Venice.  "We just need to wait to see if they get the funding, let's hope."

This is where it all happens -
